Fall Cocktail Recipes from Mr. Booze

Happy Fall

Happy first day of Fall fellow imbibers! Luckily, autumn will enter with a bang this year.

Not only will Northern America witness the beginning of autumn at 11:09 Eastern tonight, there will be a full moon in the sky. Put those two occurrences together and you’ll get the rare “super harvest moon.”

Cheers to seasonal drinking! Out come the bourbons, scotches, brandy, cognac & applejack. Cooler weather means heartier foods and the potent drinks to wash them all down with. The autumn ales, the ginger beers, the cinnamon and spiced simple syrups all are called for. Sweater weather and rich cocktails go together. A toast to Fall & all the good things that go with her. Plenty of Fall drink ideas on the previous post.  A Kentucky cocktail is also a great choice as the leaves begin to fall, just tastes better for me then say… a Gin & Tonic. I love a Scotch or a Jack Rose year ’round.

To welcome in the new season and a new start, pay attention to maybe something you have at your home bar needs a little dusting off and put back into rotation. Here is a great tune, “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young to get you in the mood. What’ll you be mixing tonight?
